March 2021 Market Week
The Cooper Design Space welcomed retail buyers back on March 7–10 for the first major Market Week since the start of the pandemic. Although still not back to pre-COVID attendance levels, this Market proved to a be a significant and positive sign for the apparel industry. Brands are beginning to innovate new trends and styles as the “sweatpants” days are coming to an end. The energy in the building was very uplifting and attendees seemed to be very happy to finally experience viewing the clothing in-person. Although many showrooms have shifted to virtual meetings and working from home throughout the pandemic, the buying experience will never be as accurate as touching and seeing the clothing in-person. As June Market is around the corner, it will be exciting to see the progression of the apparel industry in a near post-pandemic world.
